Battle Electric, the Montclair electrician for historic homes.
Battle Electric is an owner-operated electrician in Montclair, focused on the historic and high-end homes that many electricians treat like any other job. Knob-and-tube rewiring, panel upgrades, and whole-home rewiring in older houses ask for patience and a careful hand, and that is the work we do across Montclair, Upper Montclair, Glen Ridge, Verona, Cedar Grove, and Bloomfield. We are newer than the long-standing names in town, and growing by word of mouth, because the work speaks for itself.
How we work
HISTORIC-HOME PROCESS · MONTCLAIRAssessment
We walk the home, find the knob-and-tube and existing wiring, and plan the route, so the work fits the house rather than the other way around.
Careful routing
We fish new wire through plaster and timber where we can, protecting original walls, trim, and finishes as we rewire.
Permit & inspection
Panel upgrades and rewiring are permitted, inspected, and documented to current code, which helps with insurance and resale.
The owner
You deal directly with the owner on every job, from the first walkthrough to the final inspection.
Matthew Battle
Licensed New Jersey electrical contractor with more than five years in the trade. He runs the business hands-on and is on the jobs himself, so the person who quotes your work is the person who does it.
How we're different
Careful work on the older homes that need it most, and direct accountability from the person doing the work. No call center, no rotating crews.
