Most residential panel replacements take about 6 to 10 hours, and power is off for part of that day. We schedule the work with the local utility, PSE&G, so the meter is reconnected and your power is back on the same day.

Most homes with a 200 amp panel can support a Level 2 charger. On older 60 or 100 amp systems we run a load calculation first, and a service upgrade may be needed so the panel handles the added draw safely.

We install all major brands, including the Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint, and JuiceBox. If you have not chosen one, we suggest a UL listed charger with scheduling so you can charge during cheaper off-peak hours.

Knob-and-tube wiring can be a safety concern because it has no ground wire and was not built for the loads a modern home places on it. The insulation grows brittle with age and the wiring is a fire risk when buried under attic insulation. It is also a common reason insurers hesitate to cover an older home, so replacing it helps with coverage and resale.

In most homes, yes. By fishing new wire through basements, attics, and other access points, we replace most of the old wiring with little disturbance to original lath-and-plaster walls and trim. Protecting the original finishes is the priority on historic work.
